What we are:
Netball in the Community is a new community project designed to get all ages hooked on netball for life! Based in the netballing renowned town of Oldham, we hope to roll out our concept into other areas once the initial project is sustained.
Who we are:
We are four netball enthusiasts who encompass a wealth of experience in netball. Debbie Chapman has worked specifically in netball development for the last ten years and has been instrumental in setting up community netball clubs in the area, Rachel Henry is a Superleague player for Manchester Thunder who coaches The Thunder Academy and at Oldham Netball Club since completing a degree at Bath University in Coach Education and Sport Development. Suzy Chapman has a plethora of coaching and tutoring qualifications and was part of the Thunder coaching team that won The Netball Superleague in 2012, she also comes with valuable experience from the education sector. Debbie Hallas brings commercial experience as Managing Director of Netball UK and Manchester Thunder plus 25 years of netballing with Oldham Netball Club.
What we offer:
An innovative new concept integrating netball into the community. Starting with Little Netterz for five to eight year olds, and offering Pay&Play netball for 7-13 year olds, these projects aim to get youngsters hooked on netball and offer excellent exit routes to clubs of various standards. Netball in the Community will run centralised junior school league while a holiday programme named NetSetGo will keep children active during school downtime.
